Perry St

Perry St

The Perry Street Project is a considered renovation and extension of a classic Victorian bungalow in Fairfield, one of Melbourne's most characterful inner-north streetscapes. Honouring the integrity of its heritage facade, Alison worked to draw the home forward, threading a light-filled contemporary extension through the rear without losing an ounce of its original soul.

Where the front of the home speaks to another era, the back opens up entirely. Generous proportions, natural light and a quiet material luxury take over, creating a seamless transition from period charm to modern living. Each bedroom has been designed as its own private retreat with generous storage and an en-suite that feels considered rather than convenient.

"Perry Street was about respecting what was already there, and trusting that the right materials would do the rest of the talking."

Warm timber cabinetry, travertine and deep, deliberate fittings and fixtures shift and soften as the sun moves across the space throughout the day. The result is a home with two distinct personalities and the quiet confidence to hold them both.
